The Timeline Of Onboarding At Member Jungle
Understanding the onboarding timeline is crucial for any club or association transitioning to a new membership software solution like Member Jungle. The duration of your onboarding process depends on your chosen path, whether it's a flexible DIY setup or the guided Accelerator service. Both options are designed to streamline your website setup and member data import, allowing you to efficiently go live with your new system.
Time can be a funny thing; for example, artist Pablo Picasso was alive at the same time as Charles Darwin and rapper Eminem. Four months after the release of Star Wars: A New Hope, the last guillotine execution in France took place. Bethlem Royal Hospital, better known as Bedlam (we get the word bedlam and its meaning from the hospital), is over 500 years older than the United States of America.
The point is that I wanted an excuse to nerd out about surprising history facts, and an article about the timeline of onboarding at Member Jungle was as close as I’m ever going to get.
In this article, we are going to cover how long it takes to go live with Member Jungle once you decide that’s what you want to do.
The Timeline Of Member Jungle Onboarding
How long it takes to onboard depends on two main factors: how much of a rush you’re in and which of the two setup options you choose. Those two setup options are DIY and Accelerator; basically, either you build it or we do. So, let’s break down how your choice of setup option will affect the timeline.
DIY Overview
DIY is where you set up your website and membership management system yourself. You import your member data and organise and customise everything. You'll have a library of help articles and videos to assist you, but other than that, it's all you.
The following timeline demonstrates this. For reference, the points in blue are things you do, and the points in green are things we do.

So, during the DIY process, our side will only take two, maybe three business days. The time-consuming parts are how long it takes you to import your member data, set up your system, and customise your website. The good news is, however, that how much time they consume is up to you. You can fully build and customise your website in a few days and have it live within one week, but if you'd rather spend months lovingly customising and perfecting every corner of it, you can do that, too.
On average, it will take about two to three months between signing up and going live; however, the timeline is ultimately in your hands. Some people do it in a week, while others take a year. It's very much a choose-your-own-adventure situation.
Accelerator Overview
The Accelerator or the Quick Website Setup - Accelerator is where you hand that job over to a member of our team instead of setting up your website and membership system yourself. They will then set up and customise everything to your specifications.
This does cost extra, but for the extra value and convenience it provides, it is more than worth the cost. You can check out the exact price that the Accelerator will be for your desired package and set up options by going to the Pricing Calculator.

With the Accelerator, you will have a one-on-one meeting with our project manager so they can get a good understanding of what you want from your Member Jungle system and how you want it to look and work. You will also get to choose one of our website themes, and you will get a one-hour training session once everything is done, so you know exactly how everything works. Depending on which Accelerator you choose, we will also import a certain number of members for you, to make that process quicker and easier for you.
Below is a timeline of the Accelerator's duration. Again, the points in blue are things you do, and the points in green are things we do.

The timeline of the Accelerator depends on you. We will start setting everything up for you once we have all the information we need. You will be given a list of a few pieces of information we need before we build your website. It shouldn't take you more than a few hours to track them all down, but we can't start until we have this information, so any delays here will delay your whole project.
We will start setting everything up for you once we have all the information we need. If you get us all the information we need promptly, then you will have about four weeks between signing up and going live. However, when you sign up, you will be given a more accurate time estimate, as it can vary depending on the current workload.

Tips & Tricks To Make Onboarding Quicker
Whether you are setting up your site or we are, you can do a few things to help ensure that your onboarding process is as quick and seamless as possible.
Read Help Articles
A whole library of Help articles is available to help you onboard and learn your new system as easily as possible. So, make sure you take advantage of these invaluable resources. Have a look at both the Membership Management Learning Centre and the Member Jungle Support Portal to find all of these articles and guides.
Organise Member Data
You can also ensure that your onboarding is as quick as possible by organising all of your member data and having it ready to import into your new system. Whether we are building your site or you are, having this information ready to go will save everyone time.
As a part of onboarding, we can also import up to six custom fields for you as part of the accelerator. This can be a great way to ensure that all your information is present and correct when your site goes live. If you have more than six custom fields you would like us to import, we can do more for an additional fee.
Attend Training & Webinars
Member Jungle offers a wide variety of free and paid training options that you absolutely should take advantage of to ensure that you are ready to get the most out of your system when it goes live. This includes fortnightly free webinars that you can attend and ask questions at.
Assign One Main Contact
It is also worth assigning one person to be your club's lead on all of this. This person should be the nominated Member Jungle contact. They should have the power to make final decisions when it comes to setting up the site. This will help break up deadlocks and speed things up.
This person should also be able to delegate tasks to other members of your committee and assign official roles in the system to the appropriate people. For example, giving the Event Coordinator access to the Event Management module. See, Don't Let Your Committee Get Lost in the Jungle: A Guide To Member Jungle Committee Access, for more information on giving your committee the correct access.
