Run Your Entire Club From Your Pocket: What’s New In The Member Jungle App

The Member Jungle Development Team have been hard at work over the last few months working on a bunch of new features and improvements for the mobile app. These new features have just gone live, so let’s have a peek at all the new tools you now have sitting right in your pocket. 

New Features: The Short Version

Short on time? Here is a quick breakdown of exactly what you can do with the new app update:

• Faster Event Check-Ins: View live attendance totals (Orders, Registered, Attended, Not Attended) at a glance, instantly sort attendee lists, and view full member details straight from the event screen.
• New Counts & Form Data Access: See live member counts, use new sort filters, and view all custom data submitted on membership forms and event forms directly from your phone.
• Mobile Member Blasts: Send multi-channel messages (SMS, email with attachments, and push notifications) simultaneously to targeted event attendee and member groups.

Upgraded Mobile Event Management 

Running an event can be a stressful and time-consuming task, and no member wants to start their day standing in line waiting to be checked in to the event. So anything that can speed up the process of organising and running an event is really important. To help you get members out of the queue and into the action faster, we have completely overhauled how event lists work in the app.

When you open your event list now, you will see live attendance totals at the top of your screen. At a single glance, you can track exactly who is there and who is running late:

• Orders: The total number of transactions placed.
• Registered: The actual number of individual people attending. If you are using the ticketing "Account" field, each person is listed by themselves. This is an absolute lifesaver for when one member buys tickets for their entire family, but they all arrive separately.
• Attended: The people who have already arrived and checked in.
• Not Attended: The people who have not yet arrived.

If you are dealing with a lot of attendees, you don’t need to scroll endlessly through the list; you can quickly sort your events by First Name, Last Name, or Registration Date to find exactly who you are looking for in seconds.

Once you have found them, checking them in is now faster than ever. You will notice a clear "Pending - Attendance" button right next to their name. With just a single tap, you can mark them as attended straight away. This instantly updates their status on the screen, making it incredibly easy to see exactly who has walked through the door and who is still pending. 

Plus, if you don’t actually know every member’s name (no judgment here, I can never remember anyone’s name), you can still use the app to scan members' QR codes to check them in. 

Finally, if you have the correct administrator privileges, you can now tap an attendee to view their full membership details, attached directly to their event purchase, alongside all their specific ticketing information.

The Member Database In Your Pocket 

As an admin, you are sometimes sitting at your desk with your computer, your monitors, a fresh cup of coffee, and all the time in the world to find the information you need. At other times, you’re going to be in a field at 6 am, it will be raining, and you’re going to need to find some extremely finicky details in the next five minutes. Oh, and it’s windy, too. 

While you have always been able to check basic member details on the app, we have just significantly upgraded exactly what you can see and do while you are away from your computer.

When you open the Members tab on the app, you will now see live, instant counts for your Current, Expired, and Pending members sitting right at the top of the screen. This gives you a perfect snapshot of your club's overall health at a glance.

Finding a specific member in that database is also faster than ever. We have introduced brand-new sorting filters so you can quickly search your members by:

• First Name
• Last Name
• Expiry Date
• Member Number

However, the biggest change here is that you, as an admin, can now see all member information, including what they entered in their membership form. You will now be able to see a little form icon sitting next to the membership level on a member's profile. Tapping this icon pulls up all of their information.

Whether you need to double-check their emergency contact info, verify a vehicle registration number, or check a specific certification, you no longer have to wait until you are back at your laptop. You can view the complete, detailed form data right there on your screen.

Better Communication On The Go

I’ve saved the best for last here, because this final feature is by far the most exciting. You can now send Member Blasts from the mobile app. Don’t worry, I realise "Member Blasts" is not an established term, so I’m going to explain what I’m going on about.

A Member Blast lets you send a message via SMS, email, and direct push notification at the exact same time. You can even include file attachments for your emails right from your phone, which is absolutely perfect for firing off a last-minute PDF map or an updated schedule.

To use this feature, simply look for the brand-new blue Member Blast icon sitting in both the Events tab and the Members tab. Tapping this gives you the power to send to the list of members or attendees on your screen. 

Because it is built right into those lists, you can send these multi-channel blasts to exactly who needs to see them:

• Blast by Event Status: Send an urgent SMS and push notification exclusively to people who have registered to attend the event but haven’t turned up yet, to warn them about the flooded parking lot without bothering the people who are already standing in ankle-deep water in front of you.
• Blast by Membership Status: Send a quick update to all your Current members,or to your expired members with a special offer to renew.

It is the ultimate communication tool, completely untethered from your desk. You now have the power to guarantee your members get the message, no matter where you are standing when you send it.
