Member Jungle 2024 In Numbers - A Year In Review

Date:

At the end of every year at Member Jungle, our Head of Development, Beau Gibson, digs out all the statistics and numbers from the year just gone and presents them at our end-of-year meeting. These stats show how Member Jungle has changed and grown over the year and how the clubs and associations that use our system have engaged with it.

While these stats are interesting and enlightening for us, they will also be for all of our customers who want to see how they stack up against everyone else. So, let’s jump into the numbers and have a bit of fun in the process.

Club & Association Events Numbers 2024

The clubs and associations that use Member Jungle were flat-out during 2024, running more events, sending more emails, increasing their revenue, and growing their organisations.

Club & Association Events Numbers 2024

Over 2024, clubs and associations hosted 13,575 events via Member Jungle. That’s a 27% increase in the number of events they ran in 2023. This means that the Member Jungle system was used to plan and run 37.1 events every single day of 2024.

Average Number of Events Held Per club

That means that, on average, each Member Jungle customer ran 37 events in 2024, which is a 7% increase on the previous year.

Event Attendees Registered Via Member Jungle

In 2024, a total of 137,311 people registered to attend these events. To put this into perspective, if we combined all these events, the total audience would be comparable to a sold-out Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), a sold-out CommBank Stadium, and a sold-out Newcastle Entertainment Centre combined.

Member cards Scanned via the app

The Member Jungle app has also been used to scan digital membership cards 10,572 times in 2024, a 127% increase from 2023

Club & Association Member Numbers 2024

On average, clubs and associations that use Member Jungle grow their membership by 7% a year, with the top 50% increasing their membership by 28% per year. So, let’s take a look at what these stats have to say about club membership changes over 2024.

New Member sign-ups via Member Jungle

Over 2024, we saw 39,172 new members sign up to clubs and associations using Member Jungle. That is 2% more new members than signed up in 2023. This means that not only are clubs with Member Jungle growing, but they are also doing so at an increasing rate.

Memberships Renewed Through Member Jungle in 2023

In 2024, a staggering 72,207 memberships were renewed automatically through Member Jungle, a remarkable 48% increase from 2023. While Member Jungle has grown, this surge in automatic renewals is likely driven by our commitment to constant improvement.

Our monthly product releases have significantly enhanced the Member Jungle renewal system, making it more user-friendly and effective over the past year. As a result, more clubs and associations are adopting automated renewals, saving valuable time and resources. At least, that is my best estimation.

Current Members with Member Jungle Clubs

After all that was said and done, the total number of active members with clubs and associations that use Member Jungle is 161,045. That is an increase of 14% from 2023. When I did last year's version of this article, I stated that there were more people using Member Jungle than living in the city of Darwin, which is the 17th most populous city in Australia. This year, however, we have moved up in the world and are now larger than the 15th largest city in the country, Cairns.

I said it last year, and I’ll say it again this year. I’m not suggesting we should invade Cairns; I’m just saying that if we did, we’d outnumber them.

Club & Association Communication Numbers 2024

If you’ve read any of my articles, you will know that I’m always prattling on about how important communication is to building a healthy club environment, and I make no plans to stop this year. Just consider yourselves lucky that I haven’t started banging on about Roland Barthes, Michel Foucault, Jean-Paul Sartre, Guy Debord and the rest of the French philosophers who wrote the book on this stuff.

Given how important communication is, let’s have a look at how the clubs and associations that use Member Jungle have been communicating this year.

Emails sent via Member Jungle

In 2024, Member Jungle customers sent 4.5 million emails via Member Jungle, a 30% increase from 2023. For context, with 4.5 million emails, you could email every single resident of Tasmania, the ACT, the Northern Territory, and Western Australia and still have some left to spare.

SMS sent via Member Jungle

Over 2024, Member Jungle customers sent 26,000 text messages via Member Jungle, a 32% increase on 2023.

Public Page Views

The club and association websites hosted by Member Jungle had 16 million page views in 2024, which is a 5% increase.

Administrator Page views

Administrators viewed administrator-only pages a total of 3 million times, which is an 18% increase in 2023.

Push notifications sent via the member jungle app

A total of 123,976 push notifications were sent via the Member Jungle mobile app over 2024, which is a 40% increase on 2023.

What Did The Average Member Jungle Club Look Like In 2024?

So now let’s work out what the average Member Jungle club or association looked like in 2024. Of course, averages can sometimes be misleading.

For example, if you take that babies stop wearing nappies around 18 months to three years, then take into account that elderly people over a certain age may start wearing adult nappies for incontinence issues. If you calculate the average age of nappy wearers, you'd get around 41, which obviously doesn't reflect the real world of nappy use. So, take these with a pinch of salt.

The average Member Jungle club in 2024:

  • Had 437.6 members
  • Had 37 events in 2024
  • Made over $9,000 from those events
  • Sent over 12,000 emails in 2024
  • Had their website visited 44,000 times
  • Opened the Member Jungle app 4,000 times

And statistically didn’t help me invade Cairns. And a one-person invasion is apparently just called a holiday.
