Cards in Apple & Google Wallets
In our increasingly digital world, the convenience of having everything you need on your phone is a non-negotiable. From credit cards and loyalty cards to event tickets and travel passes, digital wallets like Apple Wallet and Google Wallet have become the central hub for our on-the-go lives.
Digital membership cards are no different; Member Jungle's digital membership cards can be accessed via the Member Jungle app or added to digital wallets, seamlessly integrating your organisation into your members' daily lives. This provides a convenient and streamlined experience for your members while also making life easier for you.
What Is Apple & Google Wallet?
I figured, in case you don’t know what Apple Wallet and Google Wallet are, I’d introduce them briefly here. Apple Wallet and Google Wallet are digital wallets available on smartphones, where you can securely store and quickly access digital cards.
This works for credit cards, driver’s licences, event tickets, and a whole lot more. It allows you to bring up a list of all your saved cards with one click and select the one you need. It’s basically two taps of a button, and you can have whichever card you need available and display it on your phone. Obviously, you can passcode lock this if you want, so your cards are secure.

Member Jungle’s digital membership cards can be added to these digital wallets and accessed just as easily as any other digital card. Even if you don’t currently use either Apple or Google Wallets, you can add your digital membership card to it and use it only for that card if that’s what you want.
Both Apple Wallet and Google Wallet are completely free and are available for download on their respective app stores.
How Digital Membership Cards On Apple Wallet & Google Wallet Help Your Members
One major advantage of adding your cards to Apple and Google Wallets is that they can be displayed without needing reception. After adding your digital membership card to your phone's wallet, club members can easily access their membership cards even at remote events with poor or no reception. This will be super useful for bushwalking and 4WD clubs, which are often off the beaten track.
This also means that members will not need to download the Member Jungle app to their phones to display their digital membership cards. This gives your members more control over how they use the Member Jungle system to make their lives and memberships easier.

How Digital Membership Cards On Apple Wallet & Google Wallet Benefit Your Club
The main advantage for your club is that digital membership cards on Apple and Google Wallets provide your members with additional ways to access their club membership cards. This will make increasing the percentage of members using digital membership cards easier. Consequently, using digital membership cards to organise event check-ins and offer member-only discounts will be easier as there are fewer exceptions to your nicely organised system.
To cater to the various POS and check-in system requirements, this new feature release has expanded the variety of barcode and QR code options now available on digital membership cards. This enhancement ensures compatibility with a wider range of POS systems, giving you the flexibility to choose the code type that best suits your specific scanning needs, ultimately improving the efficiency and ease of the scanning process.
If you want to change the variation of code your cards are using, or find out more about the scanning options, please Raise A Support Ticket.
Now, I have four different variations of code that I will share. This is for the tech heads in the audience who want to know their different options. So, if you are like me and the list below makes you go cross-eyed, don’t worry; this isn’t for us.
For those of you who are interested, here are the four variations of code that will be available on Member Jungle’s digital membership cards. These are:
- QR Code with the same data as our standard QR Codes (member details in a JSON payload)
- QR Code containing just the member's Barcode Number (ean_13 key in exports)
- QR Code containing the truncated form of Members Barcode Number (removes the leading zero and removes the check digit).
- PDF417 contains just the Barcode Number (ean_13 key in exports).
How Members Can Get Their Digital Membership Card Onto Their Apple & Google Wallet
So we know what Apple and Google Wallet are and why having your digital membership cards on them will benefit your club and your members, but how do we actually get them on the wallet in the first place?
Well, that's actually super simple. Go to the My Cards section in the Member Jungle app. There will be a button under the card to Add to either Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
Alternatively, using a browser on their phone, go to the club website, log in and then in the My Membership section of your Member Jungle site, you will find a link that, when clicked, will download your card and prompt you to add it to your digital wallet. From there, you will just need to follow the onscreen instructions.
